Paint the Sky
After five hours of observing balsamroot leaves, my buddy texted me that the aurora was slated to kick off again. I posted up on the hill I'd been wandering, finding these lovely bunches of paintbrush. While fine-tuning the composition before I lost all the light, a sunset matching the flowers transpired. It was pure magic! Three hours later, hungry, thirsty and slightly delirous, I conceded that the aurora was not happening. This photograph became more than a consolation prize. It was the point. Second image: mock-up of a 30x40 metal print.
My preferred print surface for this photograph: canvas. This image on canvas is lovely. It really captures the feeling of the paintbrush painting the sky red. It reads like a painting. Metal provides a bit more luminance and detail. You can't go wrong!
